Give away the child

Where is our society going?

I heard a school advertisement:

“Send your children on Monday, take them back on Friday”

“Weekly boarding school”

Now think about the children, when they return home.

How excited they are to return home and how much suppressed anger or sadness they are carrying from the school at least at the initial adjustment time.

Let’s take a moment to feel how they would feel.

Now…

Hey working parents! Isn’t your company asking you to work on weekends?

Are you really free to take the children even for 2 days in the week?

The answer is No…

The demands of work is taking away the time the children need you.

Somehow it is asking for you to have children and send them to the institutions to make humans.

And yes, parents cannot leave the job because education is not free.

There is also ambition and the love for work, and that is completely understandable. And the love for children and the need for parenthood is also taken into consideration.

But not everyone has a plan or capability to earn and also spend time with family.

Lets focus on schools now:

Schools expect parents to come to the celebrations and PTMs, but what about the teachers who are parents in the school itself.

Are the teachers allowed to comfortably take leaves to attend their children’s performances or meetings?

We are living in a paradox.

The demands of the society are contradictory.

Involved parenting vs finances vs workplace culture vs fees.

The society is asking something that does not go hand in hand.

Yes, people will say quality of time is more important than quantity.

For children quantity matters as much as quality.

I ask these questions to somehow hope for a society that understands the need to be happy and satisfied. The importance of togetherness and work-life balance.
